Marianno Barretto begins life as a Porcupine

New Asante Kotoko tactician Mariano Barreto has commerced work as he gears up for second round of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League.

The Portuguese coach arrived in Ghana last week to take over as the new head coach of the Porcupine Warriors.

The Porcupine Warriors announced last week that the 64-year old experienced coach has been appointed on a one and a half year contract.

The Portuguese trainer returns to Ghana for a second stint after handling the Black Stars from 2004 to 2006.

Barreto will lead the Porcupine Warriors for the second round of the Ghana Premier League which kick starts this weekend.

He was on the sideliness over the weekend when Kotoko thrashed low-tier side Rainbow FC in a friendly game.

Asante Kotoko finished in fourth place after the first round of the Ghana Premier League with 27 points.
