Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has been voted the best player for the month of January at French Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg.
The 26-year-old pulled 39.6% of votes to beat forward Ludovic Ajorque and Adrien Thomasson for the award.
Strasbourg conceded only two goals in the month with the Ghanaian at the heart of defence, giving them their best run in the campaign.
The swashbuckling defender ended most of the matches in January with the highest interceptions and clearances.
In the game against Lens he made 6 defensive clearances and 5 interceptions, at Dijon it was 7 clearances and 6 interceptions and Reims (3 and 3).
This was his first player of the month award in the 2020/21 season and he succeeds defensive partner Mohammed Simakan.
