MATCH REPORT: Hasaacas Ladies suffer defeat to Rivers Angels in CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers
Nigerian champions Rivers Angels FC inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Hasaacas Ladies in the opener at the Stade Champroux in Abidjan. Rivers Angels exercised their dominance over the Sekondi based female outfit to register the opener through Deborah Abiodum with a cool finish on the 17th minute of the game.
Hasaacas Ladies looked resilient after conceding in the early minutes to possess the ball in the middle but failed to unlock the backline of their Nigerian counterparts.
The first department of the game ended in a 1-0 lead in favor of Nigeria which their output was a total reflection of it. Back from the break, Rivers Angels FC continued their impressive performance as they were in search of scoring more goals. On the 52nd minute, Maryann Ezenagu sealed the Nigerian champions all the needed points with her brilliant strike to end the match in a 2-0 win.
Hasaacas Ladies must now record a win against AS Police of Niger to remain in contention for slot of the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League tournament in Egypt later this year.
