Kotoko coach Mariano Baretto lauds forward Andy Kumi as important signing

Asante Kotoko Portuguese head caoch Mariano Barreto has showered much praises on new striker Andy Kumi after an immediate debut impact during Porcupine’s heavy win over Bechem United.

The striker who joined Asante Kotoko earlier in the second transfer window scored an impressive header in last weekend’s 4-0 demolition over Bechem United in matchday 16 outstanding league fixture.

Kumi’s performance on the day has earned him several praises from gaffer Barreto who believes the foward will replace outgone club leading goalscorer Kwame Poku.

Coach Mariano Barreto said in a prematch interview;

“I was very happy all the time he(Andy Kumi) was on the field, he had a fantastic game and it was good for him to score on his debut.

“He really deserved that after working so hard for such a moment, he is a very important signing”. Coach Barreto concluded

Andy Kumi explosive performances at tier side Unistar Academy earned him a move to the Kumasi giants in the second transfer window.
