I WILL NOT STOP TAKING PENALTIES FOR KOTOKO – NABY KEITA
Asante Kotoko striker Naby Laye Keita says that he will continue to claim spot-kick duties for his side, despite his miss costing the ‘Reds’ a point against ES Setif last Sunday.
The Guinea international had the perfect chance to draw his side level after being upended by ES Setif goalkeeper with 5 minutes to end proceeding with the visitors leading 2-1.
Unfortunately for Keita, the Setif goalie guessed correctly and redeemed himself, leaving the Guinean import wondering what might have been.
ES Setif held on to claim a precious three points, thanks to goals from Mohammed Amoura and Kendouci Mohammed.
Speaking ahead of the return fixture in Algeria coming Sunday, the 26-year-old was in no doubt that he would step up again if the situation arose in Algeria.
He further stated that Asante Kotoko will be travelling to Algeria with the motive of beating ES Setif to secure qualification to the group stages of the competition.
“We are going to Algeria to fight for qualification. If along the line we get a penalty and I am in the team, I would go for it. If the game goes on penalties and I am on the field, I would fearlessly put myself up”, he told Kotoko Express.
