2021 Division One Zone II; Francis Oteng stunning freekick secure Skyy FC their second win of the season

Skyy FC secured their second win of the 2021 Division One Zone Two League campaign yesterday in matchday 5 beating Bibiani Goldstars 1-0 courtesy of a stunning freekick by talisman Francis Oteng.

Skyy FC were desperately in search of win to keep up at the top of the league log after last week’s 1-1 draw with Wassaman United in Ejisu.

The first half saw an intensed battle with both clubs creating numerous chances at both ends but failed to nail down any of the chances created ending the half in a disappointing goalless draw.

Skyy FC came back strongly in the second half with a different tactical play and kept on mounting pressure on the visitors and on the 76th minute Skyy FC had a freekick in the danger zone of Goldstars after Ebenezer Ocran was brought down.

Freekick specialist Francis Oteng stepped up and scored a stunning goal giving Skyy FC a 1-0 with a little over barely 12 minutes left to play.

Goldstars pressured back in search of an equaliser but all their efforts proved futile as Skyy FC would hold on to secure their second win of the ongoing league campaign after five round of matches.

Bibiani Goldstars 1-0 loss to Skyy FC yesterday handed them an end to their unbeaten run of form in the ongoing league after winning all four opening matches of the league season.

Skyy FC leapfrog to third on the league standings with 9 points after matchday 5 of the ongoing 2021 Division One Zone Two League.
