Former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Pastore feels that Neymar has not had quite the impact he was supposed to have at Paris since he was controversially signed from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for a record 222 million euros.

“He could have done better and given more than he has,” Pastore explained in an interview with TyC Sports.

“I know he thinks he is number one in his head and that he has the ability to do anything.

“If he is feeling good then he can win matches on his own, he has the mentality and the qualities to be at the level of Messi and Ronaldo but it’s a matter of being in the right place.”

Pastore also recalled fond memories of former colleague Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“He is very strong, a super complete striker,” he added.

“I had great chemistry with him on the pitch, he’s a character but he behaves very well.

“He’s the best captain I’ve ever had because he fights to the death for his teammates, way beyond the arrogance he shows in front of the cameras.”
