Our season has been successful- NANA YAW AMPONSAH.
Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has made a strange comments by saying they had a successful campaign in the just ended season despite finishing with no silverware.
Kotoko lost the league title to arch and bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak despite mounting a very hot chase on them ending the season on the 2nd position with 57 points. Having lost the league, the two time Africa conquerors also suffered eviction from the FA Cup having lost 4-5 on penalties to Berekum Chelsea just last Sunday in the quarter of the competition.
Despite all these, the 2019 GFA Presidential Aspirant, still sees their season as an awesome one despite admitting they couldn’t accomplish their ultimate target which was to win the league. Also, Nana Yaw Amponsah believe their poor home performance is the main reason they lost the league and astonishingly revealed their home winning bonus at some point of the season. He told Oyerepa FM in Kumasi; “We were successful in the just ended season but that wasn’t our target.
The target was to at least win the league title.” “We had a better away results than Hearts of Oak but our home performance wasn’t the best. Playing our games in Accra and Obuasi didn’t help us.” “We paid Gh¢ 10,700 per each home game at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.”
