CAF champions league semifinals: Espérance de Tunis welcome Al Ahly
The most prestigious club tournament on the continent of Africa, Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) champions league semifinals.
Two African football giants will be clashing today in the first leg of the CAF champions league semifinals.
Espérance de Tunis will welcome Al Ahly of Egypt to the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi (Radès).
These two clubs have met 18 times in all competitions which 2 of the 18 meetings were in the CAF confederation cup.
Espérance have managed only 4 wins in the 18 meetings and the Egyptian giants managed 8 win in the 18 meetings and playing 6 draws.
The last time these two clubs met was on the 9th of November 2018 at the finals of the CAF champions at : Stade El Menzah (Tunis) where Espérance won the game by 3 goals to nil to lift up their first CAF champions league for the first time in 7 years and their 3rd in the club’s history.
Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly won the champions league last season and are looking forward to reaching the finals again this season.
Referee Victor Gomes from South Africa will be in charge of this crucial game and Janny Sikazwe from Zambia will take charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room.
