Exclusive: Odartey Lamptey leaves role as Elmina Sharks Head Coach
Coach Odartey Lamptey has resigned his role as head coach for Elmina Sharks after a short stint with the Cape Coast based side.
The 46 year-old former Ghanaian International was named interim coach by the Sharks after head coach Yaw Acheampong was sacked over a month ago.
An abysmal run of form by Yaw Acheampong lead to his sacking with the club’s hierarchy going on to appoint former Aston Villa Odartey Lamtey as coach.
After weeks of managing Elmina Sharks, Nii Odartey Lamptey have his managerial role citing his decision as personal.
He featured in four matches where he picked up 3 wins including the famous one against Asante Kotoko,Ebusua Dwarfs and WAFA before losing 4-0 to Liberty Professionals.
Elmina Sharks sith 12th on the league standings with 26 points after match day 20.
