Renovational works on Tarkwa T&A Stadium increasing rapidly
Works on the Tarkwa T&A stadium is ongoing in line with project pIan irrespective of the global pandemic which has had a significant impact and placed a substantial strain on the development projects globally.
The Unit Manager of Projects, Gold Fields Ghana, Roger Adarmah at a project update and inspection of the T&A stadium said the company’s approach is to stimulate sports in the municipality on a national level Roger Adarmah said the company intends to support and make a significant contribution to T&A stadium’s ambition to ‘build better’, by ensuring development is not about just bricks and mortar but by aiding the economic recovery of Tarkwa Nsuaem.
This is done through inclusive job growth, jobs ( 70% sourced from Tarkwa Nsuaem) , local supply chain opportunities (79% from Tarkwa Nsuaem and Prestea Huni Valley) and also lessening the harmful impact on the environment.
The unit manager projects said the proposed stadium which is a fundamental part of the municipality’s growth plan will be a key driver for the much needed sports and economic development in Tarkwa Nsuaem and beyond.
The construction of the stadium which is being done by an international company Michellete Civil Engineering is financed by Gold Fields Ghana Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities.
Goldfields Ghana is investing 65 million Cedis in the comprehensive upgrade of the TNA Park which will have modern facilities as well as disabled access which meets FIFA’s maximum standards.
The over ten thousand capacity stadium, when completed, will be the only fully roofed stadium in Ghana with four colorful stands; gold, red, yellow and white.
It will also have a VIP seating area, media stands, tickets boot, stadium drainage system, an underground pass among other facility developments.
