Coach C.K Akonnor names starting eleven for South Africa showdown
Black stars coach Charles Akonnor has named three locally based players in his starting line up to face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the penultimate AFCON 2021 Qualifier.
Coach Akonnor’s 4-2-3-1 system will have Nicholas Opoku, and Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiu Ismail pair up in central defence, with Baba Rahman and Benson Annan as the Laterals.
Mabarak Wakaso, who will Captain the team for the the game will pair Afriyie Acquah as the pivot in front of the back 4.
The three attacking midfielders for the all important clash will see Ajax Star Kudus Mohammed, Kamal Sowah and Spezia winger Emmanuel Gyasi.
Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Poku will lead the team as the sole marksman to face the South Africans at the 90,000 Soccer City stadium.
Goalkeeper Razak Abalora will serve as the safest pair of hands for the game.
