NZEMA DERBY – Karela United v Medeama: Match preview
Its derby day in Western today as Karela United face regional rivals Medeama SC at the Crossby Awuah Menoriay Park in the week 11 fixture.
This exciting battle is described as the ‘Nzema Derby’, a clash the Mauves and Yellows have been reigning but one will say this is the perfect chance for Karela to go in for redemption looking at their current run in the ongoing season.
Whiles Karela United were held to 0-0 stalemate in Accra last week, Medeama remained to edge out Inter Allies narrowly to record their second home win of the championship.
Karela United ended the previous two round of games as league leaders but have dipped to the second position following the results of Bechem United holding 18 points on the league.
Also, Medeama SC have lost only two but have played five draws in the process occupying the 10th position with 14 points on the league standing after ten matches.
The Anyinase-based outfit will miss the services of man Diawusie Taylor who picked injury in their last game, who has established a great partnership with Kwame Boateng who have scored a combine of 12 goals.
Karela United have announced the signing of Bismark Oppong Gyasi few weeks ago but won’t be available for this one
Midfielder Kwesi Donsu will be out of the game due to an injury he picked up at training.
