Head Coach of Ashantigold SC Milovan Cirkovic is delighted after his team’s fightback victory over Berekum Chelsea yesterday in week 7 of the ongoing GPL season.
The Miners reacted from a goal down to narrowly edge out the Bibires by a 2-1 victory yesterday at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
Augustine Heneh scored early in the game to hand Chelsea the lead but an impressive response driven by Appiah McCarthy and experience Hans Kwofie ensured the Miners took all three points after the game.
The Serbian after the win stated he was impressed with his team’s output last Sunday, especially the comeback and exhibited how amazed he turned at the digout after Chelsea took the lead.
In the post match interview, he said ,
“Before the game, I told my players it would be difficult. I hoped they could win and they fought hard for it”,
“I was surprised when Berekum Chelsea scored first. It was very difficult to do a comeback.”
“I am happy we were able to come from behind to get all the three points in the end.”
This win takes AshantiGold back into the top 4 on the current league table.
Ashantigold SC will be up against Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchweek 8 .
