Lesotho Football Association has confirmed that it has received a letter from Matlama FC challenging the federation’s decision to declare Bantu FC as the winners of the abandoned season.
The 2019/2020 Econet Premier League was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic with Bantu FC being declared champions with 16 points advantage of second placed Matlama FC.
No team was relegated from the top-light but Manonyane and CCX FC were promoted into the Premier League which will now see the 2020/2021 season welcome 16 teams instead of the usual 14.
Meanwhile Bantu FC will represent Lesotho in next season’s CAF Champions League.
