Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has praised England U21 player Eddie Nketiah as an important member of his squad and is of the view that the talented young man could help carry the Gunners to the next level.
Arteta believes that the youngster could help the North London club with some significant contributions as they look to change their fortunes in the coming season.
The 21-year old was promoted to Arsenal’s senior team in 2017 and got his debut goal in the 2018/2019 season against Burnley on the last day of the campaign.
Nketiah was loaned out to Championship club Leeds United for the first part of the season before he was recalled to his parent club by Mikel Arteta.
‘We treat Eddie as an important part of our squad,’ the Gunners boss said in a press conference on Monday.
‘We had to make an important decision not to let him go on loan again after the spell he had at Leeds.
‘I watched him train and I was very convinced he was the right player for us to move us to the next level, that he can contribute in a big way to the way we want to play.
‘He has been fantastic so far.’
