The imminent sale of Bidvest Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila has triggered a lot of attention from some of the big teams in the PSL who are looking to bolster their squad for the season ahead.
As such, Stellnbosch FC are unwilling to let the opportunity slip by as they look to sign Bidvest Wits midfielder Cole Alexander.
“Yes, Cole has definitely been offered a three-year contract, with a pay cut of course,” a reliable source close to Stellies tells KickOff.com.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have the financial muscle like some of the big clubs. But we’re hoping to scoop him up with a three-year deal as he’ll be an asset for the club.
“He’s well-travelled and very experienced and some of our younger players can definitely learn from him.”
Stellenbosch’s media officer Garth Le Roux was very cautious when speaking about the developments.
“At this stage we wouldn’t want to comment on future players and plans, our focus is on finishing this season as best as we possibly can,” Le Roux stated
The midfielder’s agent also refused to give anything away concerning his client’s next move.
“This is news to me, in fact there is no news as my player is still contracted to Wits,” said Roberts.
