Valencia are sweating over the fitness of in-form left-back Jose Gaya ahead of their crunch encounter against Real Madrid on Thursday after the defender left the club’s training facility during the Tuesday training session with the team Doctor.
The talented full back has been one of the best players in the Los Che setup this season with his latest heroics coming against local rivals Levante when he provided an assist for Rodrigo to convert the opener for Valencia.
Gaya could not complete Tuesday’s training session after he felt slight muscular discomfort.
He was quickly excused from training with Valencia looking to run further tests on the player to determine the true extent of his injury.
Fellow defender Grabiel Paulista is also a serious doubt for the fixture but the club will be hoping to have the pair back in time for the match against Real Madrid.
