Valencia coach Albert Caledes has hit out at Mouctar Diakhaby after the French star’s error caused his side maximum points against local rivals Levante.

Valencia who are chasing a Champions League spot next season were well on course to secure the three maximum points after Spanish forward Rodrigo gave Los Ches the lead.

However, French defender Diakhaby conceded a penalty in the dying members of the game which gave Levante a chance to restore parity and the Valencia boss has lambasted the defender for his error.

“When you make mistakes, like before the break and today, it is difficult for you to fit in and be accepted,” Celades said in his post-match press conference.

“They have cost us points, and affected our standing in the table, and our aim to finish in the Champions League spots.

“Hopefully it won’t happen again.”

The draw leaves Valencia in the 7th position having accumulated 43 points after 28 matches.
