Atletico Madrid defender Felipe has expressed how delighted he is to be back in action after about three months without football due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With 11 games remaining in the Spanish top-flight, the Brazilian has urged his colleagues to do their very best to end the season on a high.

“[I am] happy [to be returning to action] because it is our job and we really want to do it,” Felipe said.

“Now we are doing what we like, returning to the routine, although with some restrictions, but we are returning to what we love.

“Now we have to enjoy it and work hard because we will have very important games ahead.”

Felipe knows how important it is to get a positive result against Athletic Bilbao in their first fixture since the suspension.

“We had this difficult period and since we returned, we have been training hard to continue with the work we did before,” he added.

“The team are preparing well, doing everything [Diego Simeone] asks and, of course, we are perfectly prepared.

“We can say that Athletic Club are a very strong opponent.

“We know that we have to play to know what the result will be, but we are very prepared and our team are aware that the matches will be without fans due to the situation we are experiencing.

“Our team will go out to play a great match.”
