There is a fifth fresh face that will be in the St. Mary’s Kitende park when the belated season finally kicks off later this year.
Congolese Manzoki Cesar Lobi has been cleared to play for Vipers, after agreeing to a two-year term for an undisclosed fee. Manzoki comes in weeks after South Sudanese Joseph Dhata put pen to paper.
Manzoki, a forward with a strong reputation was a subject of interest from other name clubs in Tunisia (Olympic Club Beja) and Morocco.
“I am so happy to be here,” exclaimed Manzoki after his paperwork was given the greenlight. “I want to use this chance well. My dream is to become an important player for Vipers. I hope I can become a starter immediately and hope win some trophies with my new team. I hope I can push my career further. My goals are that simple.”
The 24-year-old added; “I don’t regret this move because it took me time to make this decision to move here. I chose the best team out of the many clubs that were after me and I am proud of it.”
Manzoki mainly plays as a striker but can drift towards the flanks and center of the park where he can receive the ball, turn and drive at the defenders fearlessly. His first touch and passes are enviable and he boasts of an added advantage as a player who can shoot with both feet.
Manzoki joins the Venoms after parting ways with Congolese side AS Vita which he joined in 2017. With his former club, the striker made 58 appearances and scored 38 goals.
However, prior to that move, he featured for TP Mazembe between 2016 – 2017 scoring 12 goals in 21 appearances.
During his debut topflight season in Congo, he featured for Dauphin Noir De Goma for five seasons. Manzoki, has featured for the Congo National team scoring thrice.
