Lisbon has been confirmed as the venue for Europe’s most prestigious club competition the UEFA Champions League which is set to be played on August 23.
With the competition approaching the quarter-final stage, the remaining fixtures are set to be played in Lisbon with the exception of the unplayed round 16 matches.
The rest of the Europa League matches will be played in Germany with the Women’s Champions League scheduled to take place in San Sebastian and Bilbao.
UEFA plans to exercise fairness in the competition and has therefore decided that the rest of the round 16 matches which could not be played before the football suspension will be completed in the previous format where first leg visiting sides will host the return encounter on their home turf.
